We are seeking an Assistant Product Manager who will utilize their organizational and communication skills to supercharge our technology and operations teams. This is a hybrid position, based out of Atlanta but requiring only occasional in-person work.

Job Description 




As the Assistant Product Manager, you will support our head Product Manager in the development and management of internal tools and systems that streamline business operations. This role involves collaborating with internal teams to gather feedback, assisting in the creation and prioritization of product roadmaps, and conducting feature testing and validation. You will help ensure that internal products meet the needs of the business and are continuously improved to enhance efficiency. This is a highly collaborative role where you’ll assist in both strategic planning and hands-on product execution. From your base in Atlanta, you will have the opportunity to work remotely outside of occasional days when you are required to be in our office. Key responsibilities include: 


  • Product Management:
    • Assisting Guidewell Education’s head Product Manager in defining the product vision and strategy for internal tools.
    • Helping maintain and update the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals.
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including technology, operations, and other internal departments, to understand needs and provide input into product decisions.
  • Feature Testing & Validation:
    • Planning and executing feature testing for new releases and updates to internal products.
    • Conducting user acceptance testing to ensure that product features meet internal stakeholder requirements.
    • Gathering and analyzing feedback from users to validate features and identify areas for improvement.
  • Product Development: 
    • Assisting in defining product requirements and creating detailed specifications for internal tools.
    • Helping coordinate product development activities, ensuring timely delivery of product updates and releases.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Training:
    • Acting as a liaison between internal users and the product team, helping to translate business needs into technical requirements.
    • Assisting in preparing training materials and conducting training sessions for internal users on new product features.
    • Providing ongoing support to internal teams at Guidewell Education to ensure they can effectively use products.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Helping identify opportunities to enhance and optimize existing internal tools.
    • Working closely with the head Product Manager to drive automation and efficiency improvements across internal systems.

Requirements


  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or a related field.
  • Required Core Competencies: 
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Analytical/logical mindset with problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Calm demeanor, with the ability to receive and process critical feedback effectively
  • Preferred Experiences: 
    • Experience in product management, business analysis, or related roles.
    • Experience in feature testing, validation, and bug tracking.
    • Experience in or proficiency with project management tools.

Compensation and Benefits


  • Salary: $60,000 - 64,000 depending on experience 
  • Additional annual bonus opportunity
