HOW YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE :


The Director of Product Development is responsible for the strategic leadership and execution of ETR's product lifecycle management, covering both digital and print offerings. This role involves synthesizing input from various stakeholders—including internal content experts, customers, employees, and market research—to conceive, plan, and execute product development initiatives that align with ETR’s overall business strategy. The Director of Product Development is accountable for the development roadmap, feature specifications, and the successful delivery of products that meet customer needs and drive organizational objectives. 


  


This position leads a team, including four direct reports, and manages relationships with multiple vendors. The Director will work closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing in an integrated product management model to ensure the alignment of product offerings with market demand, fit, and timely delivery. The Director will also be actively involved in design, estimation, and budgeting, including estimates for government-funded proposals. This position works remotely and can be located anywhere in the United States.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL :



  • BA/BS degree . Minimum of 10 years of experience in digital product management, with experience in the education or EdTech sectors preferred.  



  • Experience with government contracts or B2B markets is a plus.  



  • A minimum of seven years leading project teams and five years of UI/UX design management experience is expected. 



  • Strong proficiency in Agile and Waterfall project management, using tools like Jira, Jira Product Discovery, and Microsoft Planner. 



  • Expertise in cloud-based platforms (Microsoft Office 365, Salesforce, HubSpot, Google Analytics) and design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Mural). 



  • Dexterity with the unknown and the ability to rapidly learn. 



  • Proven leadership of cross-functional teams, vendor management, and user-centric digital product development. 



  • Demonstrated ability to manage, supervise, and mentor staff successfully. 



  • Highly developed people skills; ability to work with diverse groups of people. 



  • Strategic planning experience, particularly in building product roadmaps and aligning with business needs. 



  • Ability to influence stakeholders, manage budgets (including government-funded projects), and execute through cross-functional agile teams. 



  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. 



  • Understanding of scalable digital products, content management, SaaS, and user-centered design. 



  • Capable of leading complex projects from inception to completion, with a demonstrated ability to motivate teams. 



  • Ability to adapt to timeline adjustments and reorganize work accordingly. 



  • Willingness to travel (5-10%).  



  • The use of a personal vehicle or rental car for ETR business will require a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. 


 


Location: Remote – United States 


 


Starting Pay Range: $157,600 to $192,600 annually. The typical hiring range for this position is $157,600 to $175,100 at 100% FTE. The starting salary is determined based on the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience.
