Cubby Beds is on a mission to help families live better by designing modern safety beds for individuals with complex conditions. Our goal is to pioneer thoughtful, user-friendly innovations that enhance safety, sensory regulation, and sleep quality. As we continue to scale, weβre looking for a Hardware Product Manager to lead the development, refinement, and expansion of our physical product line, ensuring we continue to deliver solutions that truly support families and care providers.
In this role, you will be a champion for the families we serve, developing a deep understanding of how children with special needs experience and benefit from sleep. Your work will translate these insights into innovative, high-quality products that improve real lives.

Above all, your mission is to lead a cross-functional effort to create a delightful, effective product experience that directly improves the day-to-day lives of the families we support.
This role reports to the Head of Product and Technology, who will serve as a key thought partner as you work with Cubbyβs leadership team to shape the future of this mission-driven category.
Hereβs what youβll be doing
Particularly around our Cubby 2 Tech Hub, working cross-functionally with engineering, industrial design, R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to bring products from concept to market.
Oversee prototyping, user testing, and iterative design to refine product functionality and user experience
Collaborate with contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure on-time, cost-effective production while maintaining quality standards.
Develop and track KPIs for product reliability, defect rates, and customer satisfaction.
Lead risk assessments and mitigation planning to ensure smooth product launches and minimize supply chain disruptions.
Work closely with marketing, sales, and customer success teams to position Cubbyβs hardware products effectively.
Collect and analyze user feedback, warranty claims, and field data to inform future improvements.
Maintain a deep understanding of industry safety regulations and certifications.
Partner with legal and compliance teams to navigate FDA, ASTM, ADA, and insurance reimbursement requirements
Hereβs what weβre looking for
5 years experience in hardware product management, industrial design, or mechanical engineering building zero-to-one products.
Proven track record of developing, launching, and scaling physical productsβpreferably in healthcare, assistive technology, consumer hardware, or medical devices.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and supply chain management.
Familiarity with safety & compliance standards (FDA, ASTM, ADA, CE, UL, etc.).
Data-driven mindset with experience in analyzing customer feedback and market trends.
Strong project management skills with experience in agile product development for hardware.
Ability to collaborate with engineering, operations, and marketing teams to drive impact.
Experience with IoT, embedded systems, or smart product development.
Background in medical devices, assistive technology, or durable medical equipment (DME).
Experience with design for manufacturing (DFM) and cost optimization.
Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and prototyping methods is a plus.

Compensation: $120-145k hiring range - Cubby offers an exciting OTE (On-Target Earnings) program to motivate and celebrate collective success in achieving company goals. The total cash compensation range listed above is inclusive of base pay & target variable pay. The target variable pay for this role is 10% of the base salary.
