Our newly formed organization, Microsoft AI (MAI), focuses on Copilot and other consumer AI products and research. We combine world-class AI research together with top notch design and product craft. The wider team is responsible for Copilot, Bing, Edge, and generative AI research, while the Mobile Engineering team is responsible for leading and building the mobile experience of Copilot on iOS and Android, collaborating closely with our Product Management, Design and AI Research teams.

About this role
As a Principal Product Manager - Consumer Copilot, Productivity, you will pioneer new use cases of AI in personal productivity tools. You'll help create experiences where users and AI collaborate seamlessly, empowering everyone to get more done with less stress and more efficiency. This zero-to-one role touches the core of Copilot product. You'll apply creativity and first-principles thinking. In partnership with AI researchers, designers, and engineers, you’ll fundamentally reshape human-AI collaboration.
By applying to this Mountain View, CA, U.S. position, you are required to be local to the San Francisco area and in office 3 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Develop the product strategy and vision for Copilot's consumer productivity vertical, across Copilot (app/website), Windows, Bing, and Edge.
- Create zero to one products that transform cutting-edge AI capabilities into world-class applications in personal productivity.
- Own a product area and be responsible for understanding user needs and behaviors, defining product requirements, managing end to end product development, launches and iterations.
- Establish clear goals and performance metrics, design experiments, and measure success through data analysis and research insights.
- Spearhead complex cross-functional initiatives with effective stakeholder management, communication and storytelling.
- Find a path to get things done despite roadblocks to get your work into the hands of users quickly and iteratively.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 8 years experience in product management
- OR equivalent experience.
- Track record of creating design-driven consumer products from concept to launch and finding product market fit.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 10 years of experience in product management
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience building consumer or prosumer productivity tools, community platforms, messaging applications, entertainment products, or a widely-used daily consumer apps.
- Demonstrated success building consumer products that leverage Machine Learning or Large Language Models.
- Motivated to solve problems, balance competing priorities and adapt quickly to evolving business needs.
- Proven ability to contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment, fostering knowledge sharing and growth within the team.
- Working knowledge of SQL and coding skills (Python, Javascript).
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Visionary but pragmatic. You can develop a vision and also lay out clear steps to get there.
Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
