Job Summary
IP Pathways has an excellent opportunity for a highly organized, motivated and well-rounded individual looking for a challenging position in an ever-changing industry! IP Pathways provides a variety of cloud and managed IT services to organizations. Before IP Pathways can bring a new service to market or make updates to an existing service, several activities must occur to fully productize the offering. The Product Manager is responsible for this productization, rollout across the company and ongoing maintenance/updates of the service. This position will collaborate with many other departments (e.g. sales, marketing, project coordination and engineering) and 3rd party vendors and must possess great inter-personal and communication skills.
The Product Manager role is a salaried, full-time position and will be located in our Urbandale, Iowa office. This position will work within a team of other complementary positions and will have hybrid work-from-home flexibility once fully proficient in the position. Experience working in an MSP environment or experience as a technical product manager is required along with an understanding of how to successfully productize and rollout new services, but training on IP Pathways services will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Productization, project management and rollout across the company of new services
- Updates/maintenance of services as they evolve, including rollout of updates across the company
- Technical writing to create/maintain the service description and features details documents and other documentation
- Oversee and help develop/maintain the processes and procedures to ensure successful onboarding, support and maintenance of the services
- Work with various stakeholders to help develop the scope of the services
- Develop an understanding of the services being productized and be a subject matter expert on the services for the sales, marketing and other teams
- Partner with vendors and partners to gather pricing, details and requirements for services. Also, be a primary IP Pathways point of contact with these partners/vendors.
- Some IP Pathways services will leverage 3rd party components or services
- Schedule and facilitate productive meetings related to productization and maintenance of services
- Assist with creating pricing models for the services
Requirements
Requirements include but are not limited to the following:
- Previous experience at an MSP working both directly with customers and internal teams or experience as a technical product manager
- Medium-level technical experience to be able to understand the services IP Pathways is offering to clients, the value propositions of those offerings and the technical components of the offerings
- Current or past hands-on technical experience
- Excellent technical writing and grammar skills
- Extremely detailed oriented, organized and able to track and prioritize multiple tasks and activities
- Good communication and inter-personal skills to be able to work with both technical and non-technical staff
- Able to work independently and take ownership of projects, tasks and outcomes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 2+ years at an MSP
- Understanding of gross-profit, markup and cost modeling
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to high-quality solutions
Not Required but Beneficial
The following are not required but would be beneficial:
- Experience with ConnectWise PSA (formerly Manage)
- Any previous technology education or experience
