JOB SUMMARY:

The Product Manager for Company Owned Distribution is responsible for driving profitable growth of 3rd party sourced products within the 20+ company owned distribution locations for Wilsonart. This role emphasizes executing product strategies to boost volume, market share, and customer engagement. The position involves hands-on management of product launches, channel programs, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful sell-through of key products. This role will work closely with distribution locations to ensure right service/value proposition is defined and reached across all sourced products. 


Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Select and launch new product categories as appropriate and create design of experiments across the locations to determine what drives the success of different product categories in different geographies. 

  •  
    Oversee relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring they meet business needs and contribute to successful product management. Negotiate agreements and manage relationships, adding and removing vendors as needed. Make branded vs private label decisions as needed.  
  • Assist the sales team with training and promotional materials and price guidance across the entire sourced portfolio. Draw from existing knowledge in the organization to replicate successes.  
  • Translate channel and customer strategies into actionable plans and programs. Work closely with management and sales teams to implement these plans effectively, ensuring competitive positioning and successful business outcomes.  
  • Create portfolio of offerings that can be tailored to different geographies while maintaining cohesive strategy across entire network
  • Coordinate with internal and local teams to ensure the successful introduction of products, overseeing the entire lifecycle of product rollouts from concept to execution.
  • Regularly track and analyze competitor activities, including new product launches, promotions, and incentives.
  • Develop and implement competitive strategies, promotions, and incentives to ensure growth and market advantage.
  • Analyze sales data to identify best sellers and slow movers, providing proactive recommendations to optimize product performance. 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive partnerships with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

EDUCATION: 
Bachelor’s degree is Business, Marketing or similar field.  Equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted in place of educational requirement.

 

EXPERIENCE:  
•    Bachelor’s degree in marketing, finance, business administration, or a related field.               Equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted.
•    5+ years of experience in channel marketing and sales negotiation.
•    Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
•    Experience in the building products and manufacturing industry is a plus.
•    Travel: Approximately 25% travel required.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.
