The Senior Product Manager has overall responsibility for management of the designated Belkin product lines, including the specific product mix, product families, and ongoing evaluation of products to be added, enhanced, refined, developed, or eliminated.Β  This position serves as a strategic thinker with a strong track record of launching innovative products in the retail market and has the ability to increase sales and profitability through identification of visionary new solutions and product concepts for anticipated consumer needs and needs in our industry niches, and develop comprehensive go-to-market plans, support resources and training for global sales, channel customers, packaging, manuals, and technical support.Β  The Senior Product Manager will be tasked to ensure that the Belkin product line is recognized as the best line by resellers and end users in the industry for value, quality, selection, innovation, features, reliability, and ease of use.Β  With the use of consumer research, user experience, industrial design and intellectual property, the Senior Product Manager will conceive prototype, deliver go-to-market product launch and market revolutionary innovative solutions for the way our consumers live communicate and stay connected.Β  Lastly, this position is tasked with managing and leading a team of product managers ensuring that deliverables are met, prioritize projects and tasks to ensure that we are delivering projects on time, on spec, on cost and on volume. He/she will coach and mentor direct reports through their career development at Belkin.Β 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for achieving sales and profitability goals of categories assigned.
  • Responsible for product life cycle management of assigned categories.
  • Coach, mentor, manage and develop a group of product managers to ensure on time and on scope execution of assigned category projects and NPI KPIs.
  • Provide an inspirational vision for the given product lines that β€œchanges the game” for Belkin and our markets based upon the consumer understanding you gain in our research efforts.
  • Lead market research efforts thru consumer insights, store visits, competitive audits, surveys, channel and regional feedback.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to road map, execute and launch products for their given division.
  • Prioritize, direct and ensure the creation of product value proposition and concept documents to assess global market needs, identify any gaps and new consumer solutions. Deliver business cases and for executive team approval.
  • Team with regional product managers to conduct in-market research and identify a successful product mix for the regions
  • Provide strategy and direction to regional and channel product managers to ensure that product launches and transitions are executed as defined
  • Partner with product development team, participate and contribute as necessary during the product development process.
  • Provide well defined product messaging, packaging and content direction, sell-in decks to cross functional and regional/channel teams
  • Direct weekly cadence, agenda and communication with regional/channel teams to ensure product launch support and alignment
  • Conduct regular business reviews, lead PM summits, support regional sales line reviews to ensure that business unit initiatives are properly communicated and executed.
  • Collaborate with Global integrated marketing teams to develop, communicate and execute go-to-market strategies/product launches, product marketing and messaging.
  • Develop an understanding of all elements of our business – supply chain, design, sell-in, in-store merchandising, online merchandising, distribution, etc. – to create long-term barriers-to-entry against competitors in a highly-competitive marketplace.
  • Responsible for setting global pricing, positioning and promotions.
  • Fulfill responsibilities under OHSAS 18001, understand and fully support OHSAS 18001 system.

Required Skills:

  • Proven capability to deliver successful business cases surrounding consumer needs and products/solutions.
  • Proven capability to deliver superior consumer insights based on research plans that you have led or played a significant role in developing
  • An energetic leader who has demonstrated an ability to energize others as well around difficult goals and objectives
  • A visionary who has created and articulated strategies for their business that have resulted in significant business improvements
  • Critical thinking and decision-making experiences demonstrating appropriate balance between thoughtful research and the need for timeliness.
  • Natural born leader with an entrepreneurial spirit and dynamic teaming abilities
  • Prior background in portfolio and brand management with New Product experience is a plus. Β 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree in Business Administration or Marketing.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Proven track record and experience in successfully launching consumer products.
  • 5-7 years experience in a similar role or related work experience within the consumer packaged goods or consumer electronics industry
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing other product managers
  • Depending on channel, domestic and international travel may be required

Factors such as geographic location, academic credentials, relevant experience, and specific knowledge, skills and abilities will influence the actual salary offered.
