Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to work within our US Operations.  The role will be based at our TEL Technology Center America location in Albany, NY.

Position Summary:

The Product Management Group within the Information Technology Department drives alignment between Business & IT areas utilizing automation and orchestration to strengthen partnerships while streamlining business processes/workflows for desirable and viable solutions that meet the functional needs of the company.  We're looking for a strategic and customer-focused Internal Product Manager to join our growing team.  In this role, you will be the champion for an engineering and development division, responsible for driving its vision and roadmap from concept to execution. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams - engineering, design, and various departments - to identify pain points, develop solutions, and ultimately improve internal processes and workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the IT liaison to business functions – Primary Contact Point.
  • Promote clear communication and knowing all relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate with business stakeholders to identify new product opportunities and enhancements to existing products and services.
  • Define the product vision, roadmap, and strategy for internal products, aligning with overall business goals.
  • Prioritize user stories and features based on impact and feasibility.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to translate product requirements into actionable solutions.
  • Strive to anticipate additional client needs and opportunities.
  • Works with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within the impacted area(s) and stakeholder groups to define, clarify, and document functional / non-functional requirements to support development activities.
  • Manage the product backlog for Functional Business Domain(s).
  • Align & prioritize product features & acceleration capabilities.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture on third-party application evaluations by vetting requests and evaluating products/vendors.
  • Adhere to requirements management and change management process, including appropriate involvement of technology staff and dissemination of information and feedback from impacted stakeholder groups.
  • Identify pros, cons, issues, obstacles, dependencies, and value associated with features and enhancements.
  • Conduct end-user research to help identify user stories and determine Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
  • Enforce a full understanding of requirements and documentation.
  • Participate in standups, iteration planning sessions, product demos, and retrospectives.
  • Continually make recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings.
  • Advocate for the end user and stakeholder by empathizing with and understanding user needs.
  • Exhibit active listening, facilitate sessions, and communicate clearly at all levels.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 8+ years of relevant experience in IT, Business Administration, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
  • Must be able/willing to travel to Japan and various regional and global sites as required approximately 10% of the time.
  • The ability to communicate politely, clearly, and effectively to persuade and/or influence internal and/or external customers at a high level such as senior management on technical and/or complex matters.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus across departments.
  • Partnering with Global IT teams and external partners.
  • Project Management experience within the context of product development.
  • Experience with MS Office, including MS Project, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Being able to work on multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously.
  • Utilize quantitative/analytical as part of problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred:

  • Experience in global environments a strong plus – Will be working with IT teams from Japan and Europe.
  • Work experience at manufacturing companies (preferably within the Semiconductor Industry).
  • Experience with user research methodologies and user experience (UX) principles.
  • Experience with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Experience with internal product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Possess understanding in the areas of application programming, database, and system design.
  • Understand how legacy, web-based and hosted systems interface with each other.
  • Able to speak and understand Japanese is a plus.

Salary Ranges

$158,925.07 - $197,375.04

Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, relevant education, certifications, and/or training.  In addition to base salary, we offer (full time regular employees ) a comprehensive benefits package and for certain roles eligibility in our bonus plan and long-term incentives as applicable.  The talent advisor can share more details about total compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.
