Senior Product Manager - Air & Comfort

Resideo's Products & Solutions business is currently seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the Air Solutions portfolio, which includes Thermostats, Indoor Air Quality and Zoning products for smart homes. This position reports to the Senior Director of Product Management for Air and Comfort and will lead all aspects of product lifecycle management for the business.  

We empower our product teams to solve hard problems – customer problems and business problems – in ways that our customers love yet work for our business.   Our product teams are cross-functional and durable, comprised of a product manager, a product designer, and several engineers. We staff our product teams with the skills necessary to come up with effective solutions that are valuable (our customers choose to buy or use), viable (the solution works within the many constraints of the business), usable (the user can figure out how to use) and feasible (our engineers have the skills and technology to implement). 

This means that the Senior Product manager must contribute to the product team a solid knowledge of the various constraints of the business – constraints from marketing, sales, service, finance, legal, and privacy are typical examples.  The product manager must also contribute to the product team a deep knowledge of our users and customers, and the data about how our customers engage with our products.  Finally, the product manager is expected to track industry trends and the competitive landscape as they pertain to her product.  

This opportunity, as with the other roles on the product team, is an individual contributor role.  You will need to be able to influence your teammates, as well as colleagues, stakeholders, and key executives, through your use of data and logic. 

Job Duties: 

• Financial Ownership: Manages value propositions, pricing, product mix, and cost economics to drive revenue growth and gross margin expansion; can deploy business analytics and judgements to drive the right actions. 

• Strategy and Growth Planning: Develops a vision and strategic plan for the product portfolio, in alignment with the overall Resideo strategy, that enables faster than market growth rates. 

• Market Orientation: Lives in the "field of play", understanding customer needs, competition dynamics, and market trends that inform business decisions; display a desire to win. 

• Product Lifecycle Management: Manages the entire product portfolio through the lifecycle curve, deploying the right levers in marketing, sales, engineering, and Integrated Supply Chain; deploy portfolio optimization tactics to drive simplification. 

You Must Have: 

• 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years of Product Management, Marketing, Strategy, Business Development experience. 

• 2+ years working on technology-powered products as either a product manager, product designer, engineer, data analyst, data scientist, or user researcher.  

• Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery. 

• Experience engaging with engineers, designers, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship.  

• Ability to travel up to 35% of the time. The need for travel is typically driven by the need to conduct Customer VOC, attend internal NPI workshops or business reviews, and attend a few key industry tradeshows.
