About the Opportunity:


At Life Fitness, we are looking for a seasoned Senior Product Manager to join our Consumer Home Category team. This pivotal role will focus on managing the lifecycle and new product development within the direct-to-consumer channel, with a primary objective of optimizing and evolving our DTC cardio and strength equipment portfolio.



In addition to product management, the role is intended to act as a leader within our consumer business, with oversight of profitability and overall customer satisfaction. This includes strategic planning, financial performance management, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences across all touchpoints.



**this is a hybrid position based out of Franklin Park, IL, - Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday are in-office collaboration days and Monday/Friday are remote** #LI-Hybrid



Key Responsibilities:


  • Operations Management:
    • Forecast and implement demand planning strategies to align production with market needs and financial goals.
    • Develop and manage end-of-life strategies for products, including inventory management to minimize waste and maximize resource utilization.
    • Conduct price testing and optimization to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining profit margins.
    • Identify and implement improvements in order fulfillment, delivery, and installation processes to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
       
  • Product Strategy and Development:
    • Drive planning and roadmap refinement sessions with business and engineering teams to align on product vision and execution strategies.
    • Collaborate closely with product managers to ensure hardware and software features are well-integrated and market-aligned.
    • Lead customer-based market research initiatives to validate product requirements and gain deep insights into consumer needs.
       
  • Product and Regional Profitability
    • Conduct detailed revenue and margin analysis for SKUs and product categories to ensure optimal profitability.
    • Perform price testing and analysis to determine the most effective pricing strategies for maximizing revenue and margin.
    • Develop and implement pricing models that align with market trends and customer expectations.
    • Monitor and evaluate the profitability of products by global region, identifying areas for improvement and growth.
       
  • Data Analysis and Portfolio Management:
    • Analyze sales data to influence product decisions and identify portfolio gaps or opportunities for SKU consolidation.
    • Regularly monitor and report on significant trends in the home fitness landscape.
       
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with partners in online and dealer sales channels to understand market trends and identify areas of improvement to portfolio mix or operational efficiencies.
    • Work in tandem with the engineering team to manage, prioritize, and schedule requests and enhancements.
    • Maintain continuous communication with global marketing teams, ensuring clear understanding of product roadmaps and strategic directions.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in product management, ideally within the fitness equipment or consumer electronics industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with market research, product positioning, and competitive analysis.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
