Greenprint Partners is seeking a Senior Program Manager with 10+ years of experience to lead strategic communications and engagement for high-impact infrastructure programs in the Pacific Northwest. This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced consultant to take on executive program leadership while also building out Greenprint’s strategic communications practice in the region.

As a key member of our team, you will:

  • Lead large-scale infrastructure programs with complex stakeholder environments.

  • Manage and mentor a growing team of communications and Equity and Social Justice (ESJ) professionals.

  • Shape Greenprint’s regional strategic communications practice and service offerings.

  • Contribute to business development efforts, strengthening client relationships and expanding Greenprint’s market presence.

This position requires a mix of hands-on project delivery and high-level strategic leadershipβ€”someone who can craft deliverables while also mentoring, delegating, and managing up to clients. The ideal candidate will have external consulting experience, a track record of success in government infrastructure programs, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with shifting priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Program Leadership (40%)

  • Provide high-level guidance for complex, multi-stakeholder infrastructure programs.

  • Supervise communications and equity and social justice (ESJ) components, ensuring alignment with program goals.

  • Manage relationships with senior program leaders, government agencies, and consultants while empowering internal teams to execute effectively. Manage cross-discipline coordination, helping integrate communication and ESJ work streams into an engineering-led program.

  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget for contracts while mentoring the team to grow project management skills.

  • Hold the long-range strategic vision while remaining adaptable to shifting client priorities.

  • Lead change management efforts, ensuring seamless program implementation and stakeholder alignment.

  • Oversee governance structures, key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting frameworks to support program execution.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including Clean Water Act obligations and ESJ commitments.

Strategic Communications Practice Management and Growth (40%)

  • Develop and implement internal and external communications strategies for major public sector infrastructure programs.

  • Guide and hold teams accountable for equitable community engagement strategies that build trust and buy-in.

  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams of communications and engagement consultants.

  • Advance business development efforts by contributing to proposals, marketing efforts, and Greenprint’s communications practice buildout.

  • Serve as a key facilitator in stakeholder meetings, ensuring productive and outcome-driven discussions.

  • Deliver compelling presentations to clients, community stakeholders, and executive leadership.

  • Oversee program-wide knowledge management, ensuring documentation, templates, and processes are standardized and accessible.

  • Collaborate with partners on regulatory strategies, risk management, and change management processes.

Team Management (20%)

  • Manage and mentor a growing team of 2–4 communications and ESJ professionals.

  • Provide coaching and development opportunities for junior staff.

  • Foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative work environment.

  • Oversee document management and quality assurance to ensure consistency across communications materials.

  • Support program resourcing and onboarding efforts, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities across the team.

Desired Experience and Characteristics

  • Currently or previously a consultant (either at an AEC firm, a communications firm that serves AEC clients, or a related infrastructure-focused consulting firm).

  • Experience managing a team (even if small).

  • Industry experience in water, energy efficiency, green stormwater infrastructure, renewables, or a related sector.

  • Strong understanding of how to navigate government processes and infrastructure programs.

  • Ability to manage up to senior program leaders and drive results in a dynamic, high-intensity environment.

  • Exceptional strategic communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts for diverse audiences.

  • Experience leading stakeholder engagement, community outreach, and strategic messaging initiatives.

  • A balance of hands-on execution and high-level strategy, with strong mentoring and delegation skills.

  • Experience working with diverse teams and personalities in local government and consulting environments.

  • A relentlessly positive approachβ€”able to manage conflict, maintain morale, and be a persuasive communicator.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clarity and effectiveness across all deliverables.

  • Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and persuade audiences in high-stakes environments.

  • Experience managing complex program structures, including performance tracking and governance.

  • Familiarity with knowledge management tools such as SharePoint and internal reporting frameworks.

PreferredΒ 

  • An existing network of clients and primes who value their leadership.

  • Experience with business development, particularly in government infrastructure.

  • A degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field.

  • Deep experience working on government infrastructure contracts.

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance, risk management, and program controls.

Work Environment & Location

  • Preference for candidates already in the Pacific Northwest due to the value of local relationships and knowledge, but open to relocation for the right person.

  • This role requires occasional in-person engagement for meetings and events.

  • Travel may be required for site visits, industry events, and business development opportunities

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary for this position will be based on qualifications and years of relevant experience and ranges from $150,000 - $180,000. In addition to base salary, all Greenprint staff participate in our discretionary annual bonus program.
