Product Manager
The Product Manager is a highly collaborative position responsible for executing strategic product initiatives across the electronic product portfolio for Allegion's Home business. This position is responsible for ensuring near term and long-term profitability for the business by partnering with the Director of Product Management and executing on the product portfolio strategy, actively managing value propositions within programs, ensuring product line positioning, and all other aspects of product management.β― This position enables and drives collaboration and partnership with multiple functions including engineering, marketing, sales, manufacturing, and sourcing, to achieve the successful execution of product plans and development and execution of product roadmaps
What You Will Do:
Product Vision, Strategy & Execution:Β
Develop product strategy and manage product line(s) through research, market knowledge, and customer insights, identifying and evaluating current and future market opportunities and optimizing product line(s) to meet business objectivesΒ
Manage the product life cycle for assigned product line(s) including new product development & innovation opportunities, sunsetting and other enhancements in line with Allegion Homeβs strategyΒ
Develop strategy, gain alignment, and drive execution through collaboration and trusted partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
Business and P&LΒ
Lead the development of business cases in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders that detail KPIs and/or financial expectations, market size, forecasts, investment, and commercialization strategyΒ
Gather & synthesizes sales, market, customer, competitive, and other data to use as inputs when developing or adjusting the product strategy and making decisions for their product line(s)Β
Actively manage the performance of their product line(s) through financial metrics & KPIs; evaluates and determines actions to positively influence business performanceΒ
Leads and influences using strong business and financial acumen with ability to translate data analysis into actionable opportunitiesΒ
Technical Aptitude:Β
Acts as go-to expert on their assigned product(s) within the organization; Has a working understanding of how the product is designed, built, and transacted.Β
Well-versed in industry/regulatory certifications and building codes that may apply to their portfolioΒ
Understands product application best practices (install, maintenance, support, etc.)Β
Understands how the product line fits within the greater ecosystem of products it surroundsΒ
Customer Empathy & External Market:Β
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of markets, channels, consumer/customer needs, industry trends and go-to market strategy; consistently evaluating future market opportunities, threats, and internal business goals to adjust product strategy as neededΒ
Communication & Collaboration:Β Β
Maintain close, trusting relationships with stakeholders. Inspiring, influencing, and aligning others toward shared goalsΒ
Clearly and concisely communicate product information ensuring shared understanding throughout the organizationΒ

Present product line updates, strategy, prioritization and related information to stakeholders, other departments, and internal or external customers displaying command, presence, and ownershipΒ
What You Need to Succeed:
Bachelorβs degree in Business, or technical field (Software, Electronics, Information Systems, etc.) required, Masterβs preferred.Β
5+ years of experience in product management or new product development β―Β
Expert understanding of smart home industry landscape, consumer needs, and competitive positioningΒ
Experience with consumer electronic products or commercial electronic goods is strongly preferred.Β
Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate effectively with diverse range of internal and external audiences:β― customers, sales personnel, engineering, finance, executive leaderships, etc.β―Β
Proven ability to translate complex customer and channel needs into thoughtful, well-organized product requirements and product roadmapsΒ
Proven strategic planning ability and track record of supporting profitable business growth.Β
Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, integrate, and execute new solutions within a businessΒ
Strong business and financial acumen (business cases, price positioning, product margin, commercialization strategy, channel management, etc.)Β
Proven ability to utilize research in the development and execution of new product development, pricing, and strategic planningΒ
Ability to travel up to 30% requiredΒ
