Technical Product Manager

The Technical Product Manager position will work directly with leaders of the Merchants Bank Retail, Commercial and Shared Services business units to define, implement, support and mature core business systems, integrations and analytics. You will partner with business and technology leaders to establish and maintain a strategic roadmap with a clear value proposition and established success metrics in alignment with organizational goals. You will be the engineer and subject matter expert of end-to-end solutions driving collaboration with internal and external teams through the refinement process to create a detailed, prioritized, and executable backlog for you and your team to deliver.

A successful Product Manager will be shape, implement, and support strategic software and data solutions that deliver business results. Their sense of accountability and ownership will be to the results of the solution, driving collaboration and problem solving across traditional reporting lines and structures. They will educate and champion software delivery and application management best practices within the organization and assist in the continuous effort to mature the company’s technical capabilities.

After one year as our Technical Product Manager, you will know you were successful if you are able to handle the following confidently and independently.

• Adopt and Refine the Merchants Bank Retail, Commercial and Shared Services Technology Roadmap and ensure continued alignment of business and technology strategic objectives
• Lead definition of opportunity/value statements, business requirements, success criteria, current state process, high-level future state design, and impact analysis for all new strategic business requests
• Guide and support Product Owners’ translation of the roadmap and initial analysis into prioritized, refined backlog for implementation by internal and vendor development teams
• Set strategy and approach for product team(s) to support complex backlog mix including:

               Strategic business goals

               Technical maturity

               Support, scale and continuous improvement of existing solutions

               Regulatory and unplanned business needs

• Establish strong partnerships with business unit leaders to understand business model, strategy, product, process, and goals to ensure alignment of technology solutions.
• Manage and coach Product Owners and Business Systems Analysts
• Govern solutions delivered by the teams follow Project Delivery Best Practices
• Collaborate with Enterprise Data to ensure well architected solutions

Technical Product Manager, expected skills and education…  

• Bachelor’s degree AND 10+ years’ experience delivering complex software and analytics implementations in a Product/Program Manager capacity or equivalent. 
• 5+ years’ experience in Retail and Commercial Banking Industry
• Excellent communication, collaboration and presentation skills required. 
• Experience operating and executing within delivery frameworks (Scrum, Waterfall, etc.).
• Multifamily or Commercial Real Estate industry experience preferred.
