ABOUT THE ROLE


The AstrumU Data Management and Services Platform is a comprehensive solution designed to capture, comprehend, and deliver actionable insights from diverse data sources. It focuses on enhancing education and workforce alignment by leveraging advanced data governance, security, observability, and lineage capabilities. This platform empowers organizations to bridge the skills gap between learning and workforce needs, ensuring that individuals and institutions can achieve their full potential through data-driven decision-making.  


 


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Product Manager to lead the development and delivery of the Astrum Data Management platform and services.  This will require an individual who is currently experienced with data management services covering data ingestion, data comprehension, and the delivery of outcomes via an API that enables our customers to consume these outputs across their own workflows.  


 


Initially, we expect the candidate to focus on the delivery of the data outcomes through a robust API portal, facilitating seamless integration with education and workforce management systems. This enables organizations to access verified individual profiles, organizational capability insights, and data-driven tools to bridge the skills gap between education and employment.   


 


We expect the candidate to lead the activities in support of orchestrating the platform activities that enables it to scale and operate across all its core activities from data ingestion, data comprehension, and the API services layer in a consistent manner that creates a seamless experience for our customers leveraging the services offered by AstrumU Data Management platform.  To accomplish this, you will be a key player in our Agile Development Process, collaborating with design, engineering, data science, and operations teams to tackle cross-disciplinary problems effectively. 


 


Your responsibilities include assisting in product architecture, ensuring seamless integration of design and technical elements, formulating feature sets and EPIC-level product definitions, reviewing stories, and validating API-specific data. 


 


Collaboration is crucial, as you will work closely with AstrumU’s Technology Team and PMO to create product roadmaps, strategic plans, and ensure successful launches. Additionally, you will negotiate for resources, ensuring projects are staffed with necessary skills and expertise. Controlling the development process to ensure smooth progress and alignment with priorities is a vital aspect of this role. 



You will work under the Principal Product Manager, making impactful decisions for current and future products. Join us in shaping the future of the skills economy with your expertise in API product management. 



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Product Strategy & Roadmap

    • Expand on the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the AstrumU data management and platform services, with a primary focus on delivering an API portal that enables accessibility to our current capabilities.

    • Align product objectives with overall business goals and customer needs.



  • Product Development

    • Collaborate with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data management and services for the AstrumU platform.

    • Ensure the services are designed for scalability, reliability, and ease of use.

    • Develop and prioritize user stories, product backlog, and sprint planning.



  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Gather and prioritize requirements from customers, stakeholders, and internal teams.

    • Act as the primary point of contact for customer feedback and queries regarding the API portal.



  • Market Analysis

    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and gaps.

    • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the product competitive.



  • Performance & Metrics

    • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success.

    • Utilize analytics to drive data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.



  • Documentation & Training

    • Oversee the creation of comprehensive API documentation, guides, and tutorials.

    • Provide training and support to customers and internal teams on API usage.





REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or equivalent experience is a plus.

  • 2-5 years proven experience as a Product Manager or relevant role in a technical environment, preferably with API products supporting AI/ML data services.

  • Extensive knowledge of RESTful API standards and documentation tools (Swagger, Postman).

  • Excellent project management skills with experience in agile methodologies.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Preferred, but not required:

    • Experience with data platforms and integration services.

    • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

    • Experience with developer communities and customer engagement.

    • Proven record of accomplishment of successfully managing the lifecycle of API products from concept to launch and beyond.

    • Proficiency in leveraging data analytics and metrics to make informed decisions, measure product performance, and iterate on features to improve user experience

    • Product management experience in developing AI/ML products or data platforms




 


WHAT WE OFFER


AstrumU pays a gross annualized base salary range for this position of $115,000 to $146,000 based on qualifications, skills, experience, and company values and culture alignment. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical to allow for future and continued compensation growth. Additionally, the following key benefits are offered for this full-time role:
