Job Description.
We are the easiest way to shop for low cost, high quality health care. We currently serve over 30 million American health consumers, and provide transparency tools to assist health insurers and providers deliver access to affordable care.
We combine the culture and approach of a cutting edge startup with a mature and experienced business team. Through state of the art technology and a love of big data, we’re bringing the US health system into the 21st century with shopping, recommendation, and disease management tools.
We’re looking for smart, creative people to take those products to the next level.
You Will...
• Gather business needs from various internal and external stakeholders, including other product managers
• Define the business strategy and innovation drivers for the non-functional features of our multi-tenant SaaS platform. These include scalability, reliability, performance, configurability, deployability, extensibility, and interoperability (e.g., APIs or authentication schemes)
• Manage product lifecycle with Service-oriented Architecture design requirements that engages our customers and expands our market
• Design and drive requirements for our cross functional engineering, data, & technical design team, managing an agile backlog and lean process
• Drive on time delivery of features and client implementations and coordinate any associated launch activities
• Evaluate the success of your features through rigorous monitoring and analytics
• Continuously improve team processes to increase quality and effectiveness
• Present successes and failures to senior management, identifying opportunities and areas for improvement
You...
• Crave the chance to help build a product line that is truly life changing for millions of Americans.
• Have a development background and know a high quality API when you see it (or have another specialized technical area of skill relevant to a multi-tenant SaaS product suite).
• Have developed self-service tools for implementations, verifications, and configurations.
• Are a seasoned (>3 years experience) product manager, who is comfortable with agile development practices and lean development
• Can nail the basics: write exceptional user stories, sketch a wireframe, draw a flowchart, present a business case, produce a roadmap, drive a release schedule, and keep yourself and everyone around you focused and organized.
• Realize that success as a PM is all about relationships. You operate like a mini CEO with a relentless focus on the big picture, while leading your team with the optimism, grace, and practicality of a seasoned diplomat.
• Are entrepreneurial. We’re a startup. You need to be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and defining your own direction. And in a pinch, you are able to work outside of your domain to remove impediments or ensure success.
• Are more collaborative than competitive. We succeed when our team works together.
• Know how to say no nicely. You understand that focus is as much about what you’re doing as what you’re not doing. When new ideas come to the forefront, you know how to channel your team’s enthusiasm constructively, while deferring distractions appropriately.
• Have a passion for data and learning. You read the latest news and research about cutting edge web design/development concepts and processes, and industry best practices for SaaS products. You measure the impact of your products based on results, not compliments. And you’re constantly trying new products & tools looking for inspiration.
• Have taste. You know the difference between good technical design and truly elegant solutions. And can comfortably reference and communicate examples of both to any audience.
• Have a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, and ideally an MBA as well.
