Vice President, Product Strategy

The VP, Product Strategy will lead the management of an existing B2B product portfolio and the development of new products and services. The candidate will be responsible for defining the product roadmap, as well as collaborating with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality products that meet user needs and business goals.  This role will also be responsible for responding to Data Security risk assessment requests by clients, prospects, and other third parties.  The candidate will respond to these questionnaires and requests in a timely manner, and work closely with the technical staff to remediate any findings or control gaps found.  The candidate will also be available for technical sales calls and communicate with sales and marketing staff on new features and functionality provided in any technical products OutSolve provides. 

 

Candidate Profile

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in software development engineering, design, and data security, preferably in a software or technology company
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

 

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience with HR technologies or other B2B services
  • Experience in the Private Equity sector

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Collaborate with C-Suite to develop and implement a long-term vision and strategy for OutSolve’s product portfolio that aligns with growth objectives and market trends  .
  • Define and maintain product roadmap that aligns with business objectives and digital strategy, ensuring timely delivery and evolution of product offerings.
  • Own the digital product portfolio, making decisions related to product development lifecycle, feature prioritization, budgeting, and resource allocation in tandem with Product Engineering leadership.
  • Partner with leadership, internal software users, and external partners to gain buy-in and support for product strategies and to inform pricing, packaging, and market expansion.

 Product Development & Innovation

  • Manage the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and design to market launch, ensuring that each product meets market needs, has a timely launch, and is designed to drive strong profit margins.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, Product Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Success) to ensure cohesive product development, inform go-to-market strategies, and drive adoption.
  • Lead the identification and execution of new product opportunities, leveraging emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML) and market trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Champion agile methodologies to ensure flexibility and responsiveness in product development and delivery, and establish standards for product quality and user experience design

Market Analysis & Customer Advocacy

  • Conduct comprehensive market research and user feedback collection to identify evolving market trends and changing user needs to inform product strategy.
  • Identify and manage key partnerships and vendors that enhance product offerings and drive strategic value.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer within the organization, driving a customer-first mindset across all product initiatives.
  • Partner with the Chief Strategy Officer to provide insights and recommendations to the executive team on potential new markets, partnerships, and product enhancements.

 

Product Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing, agile product teams by creating a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage, attract, and retain product management talent (including Product Managers, Product Owners, etc.), ensuring the team has the skills and capabilities needed to execute the product strategy and to scale as OutSolve’s product portfolio expands.
  • Foster a culture of customer-centricity, innovation, and collaboration across the product organization, IT organization, and beyond.

 
Performance Management & Metrics

  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of product initiatives.
  • Monitor product performance, customer satisfaction, and market trends to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous product innovation.
  • Report regularly to the Chief Strategy Officer and executive team on product performance, strategic alignment, and market impact.
