About the Role

The Head of Product – E-commerce will be responsible for optimizing the end-to-end digital shopping experience, with a focus on conversion rate optimization (CVR), checkout flow, AI-driven personalization, and site search enhancements across our custom .NET e-commerce platform. This role requires a deep understanding of selling a large catalog (40K+ SKUs) within a broad home category, as well as expertise in digital marketing, acquisition and retention strategies, and user journey mapping.

This person will partner closely with our cross functional executives to refine on-site experiences, develop educational and interactive shopping modules, and ensure frictionless user journeys across our three business channels:

  • Direct-to-Consumer (DTC): Creating a sticky, engaging e-commerce experience that drives conversion by emphasizing our core values of quality, comfort, education, and sustainability.

  • To the Trade (B2B): Creating a sticky, gated experience that drives repeat engagement.

  • Design Services: Enhancing informational content that converts visitors into consultation bookings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the e-commerce product roadmap, prioritizing features and optimizations that improve CVR, AOV, and overall site performance.

  • Enhance on-site search and filtering using AI-driven tools to prevent search fatigue and improve product discovery.

  • Optimize checkout flow and payment options, reducing cart abandonment and improving transaction completion rates.

  • Collaborate with the SVP of Merchandising to refine site navigation, category structure, and product discovery.

  • Partner with the Design Team to develop educational, interactive, and storytelling-driven modules that engage users and increase conversion for high-consideration categories (e.g., furniture, custom upholstery, lighting, rugs).

  • Leverage AI-driven personalization to tailor product recommendations and improve engagement.

  • Analyze and improve customer journey touchpoints in partnership with Marketing and the E-commerce Manager.

  • Lead A/B testing and data-driven decision-making to refine site UX and drive continuous improvements.

  • Manage third-party integrations and technology vendors to enhance e-commerce capabilities.

  • Lead mobile-first initiatives, ensuring an optimized experience tailored to how customers engage across devices.

  • Work closely with Engineering, Merchandising, and UX teams, leveraging deep analytical skills and a business insights-first approach to drive e-commerce optimizations.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends in e-commerce UX, AI personalization, and site optimization strategies.

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of experience in e-commerce product management, digital product development, or conversion optimization.

  • Proven track record of improving CVR and optimizing checkout flows in a high-growth e-commerce environment.

  • Deep expertise in AI-driven personalization, search optimization, and site performance improvements.

  • Experience working with custom e-commerce platforms (not Shopify Plus)

  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, SEO, acquisition and retention strategies, and user journey mapping.

  • Ability to partner cross-functionally with Merchandising, Marketing, Engineering, and Design teams to implement strategic improvements.

  • Data-driven mindset with expertise in analytics, A/B testing, and behavioral insights.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience driving alignment across multiple business stakeholders.
