This is a paid internship.Β  All internships will be in our Grand Rapids Service Center office.Β  The duration of the internships are mid-May through mid-August.Β  Internships are for those enrolled in a college or university program or a recent graduate. Β The Product Owner Intern will mentor alongside the Product Owner responsible for the Enrollment related features that support the student information system (such as collection of forms, student academic pathways and plans, the application process, etc). This role will participate and observe in all team/Agile process steps and be given the opportunity to operate as the Product Owner on stories or small features with the guidance and support of the established Product Owner.Β

In this role:Β 

Β 

  • Participate in product planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews/system demos, retrospectives, iteration planning, system demos, and other SAFe-related meetingsΒ 
  • Ensure the software product team is working on the right features from the stakeholders’ perspectivesΒ 
  • Continuously prioritize the product backlog based on market changes, client feedback, and business priorities – coordinating dependencies with other product owners, as neededΒ 
  • Identify and document requirements as acceptance criteria for the development teamΒ 
  • Review deliverable and demonstrable code after every iteration, and has the authority to accept or reject before delivering to the business partnerΒ 
  • Assist business partners with documentation and training materials as neededΒ 
  • Assist with prioritization and resolution of defects/bugsΒ

Qualifications:Β 

  • Team-player looking to collaborateΒ 
  • Self-motivated and organized- capable of managing multiple tasks as delegatedΒ 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to establish relationships quicklyΒ 
  • Clear communicator both written and verballyΒ 
  • Inquisitive and curious by nature, with the ability to ask clarifying questions and understand and translate needsΒ 
  • Familiarity or interest in custom software development a plusΒ
