Description


Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are Colorado-specific.

Colorado Pay Range: from $81,000 to $186,000 per annum eligible for bonus and equity.

The Product Manager Role

Product Managers (PMs) are often referred to as “CEOs of the product.”  What that means is that PMs play a strategic role in the lifecycle of everything we ultimately provide to customers, including understanding market trends and customer needs (requirements definition), working with the engineering team to respond to those needs (designing the offerings, including weighing build/buy/partner decisions), taking those offerings to market (including channel and partner enablement) and serving as ongoing product evangelists (delivering tech talks, authoring white papers, blogs, and presentations, working with customers to make them successful) – all the while planning ahead to the next generation of each offering.

The role requires strategic thinkers who are curious and excited about both participating in and shaping the next phase of the IT Operations market, with strong technical fluency (these are technical products) but also an interest in making products easier for real humans to use.  This position requires collaboration with many stakeholders, so strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as is a desire to work with a diverse set of people

Responsibilities: 

  • Help increase adoption of various Real Application Testing features such as Database Replay, SQL Performance Analyzer, DB Consolidation Workbench, etc.
  • Set product direction for various Manageability solutions including Real Application Testing
  • Help build Oracle Database Manageability solutions and other services for both On-premises and Cloud assets
  • Develop overall product and service architecture based on customer requirements, the competition that aligns with the overall strategy of Enterprise and Cloud Manageability Group
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and other stakeholders that addresses pressing customer requirements
  • Lead the complete product development life cycle in an agile environment from developing use cases to product delivery
  • Drive internal and external adoption of our technologies

Desired Skills and Experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
  • 5 years experience in product management or as DBA
  • Knowledge of Oracle Database performance tuning best practices
  • Experience with Real Application Testing product is a strong plus
  • Working knowledge on features such as SQL Tuning Advisor, Performance Hub, Oracle Database Multi-tenant architecture etc. is preferred
  • Experience with Oracle databases, Exadata, Enterprise Manager, OCI or equivalent technologies is a plus (not mandatory)
  • Experience in developing modern UI using the latest technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to drive product innovation and build new industry-leading products or cloud services
