Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Product Manager to join our Technology team. This role will be responsible for the product strategy and roadmap for Colletteβs APIs which enable internal teams and external partners to integrate with our platform. You will think deeply about the needs of end-users, external partners, and developers building on top of our platform. You will define the platform strategy, which APIs to develop, how to prioritize features, and how to deepen integrations with external partners. You will foster a healthy ecosystem connected to our platform by engaging with developers and provide clear and comprehensive API documentation. You will also guide API management: onboarding, support, performance management and security. You will also be responsible for our internal Reservations system built on this platform. This a high-profile role that will lead a major technology transformation and drive our ambitious platform strategy.
Primary Functions:
- Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for Colletteβs API platform, ensuring seamless integration for internal teams and external partners.
- Own the full API lifecycleβdesign, development, documentation, versioning, governance, security, and deprecationβto ensure high-quality, scalable, and secure APIs.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to define API requirements, data models, and integration workflows, ensuring developer-friendly and well-documented solutions.
- Prioritize and manage the API backlog based on business objectives, partner needs, developer feedback, and technical feasibility.
- Establish and track key API performance metrics, such as uptime, latency, adoption rates, and developer engagement, using data to inform product decisions.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to identify integration opportunities that drive revenue, operational efficiency, and ecosystem expansion.
- Define and oversee API authentication, authorization, and security best practices to safeguard data integrity and compliance.
- Drive API developer engagement through comprehensive documentation, sandbox environments, and proactive support to ensure smooth adoption and integration.
- Stay ahead of industry trends in API management, developer experience, and platform ecosystems, incorporating best practices into Colletteβs API strategy.
- Evaluate our internal Reservations system built on top of this platform and develop a roadmap for the next generation of this system.
- Mentor other product managers and cross-functional team members, fostering a product-led culture of innovation and technical excellence.
Knowledge and Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in technical product management, with a focus on APIs, developer platforms, or integrations.
- Strong technical acumen with a solid understanding of RESTful APIs, web services, authentication protocols (OAuth, JWT), and API management platforms
- Experience working with API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger, OpenAPI) and knowledge of best practices in API usability and developer experience.
- Hands-on experience working closely with engineering teams to define API specs, data models, and technical requirements.
- Proven track record of managing API products and driving adoption among developers and partners.
- Familiarity with API security, performance optimization, and rate-limiting strategies to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to define and track key API metrics (e.g., latency, error rates, usage patterns).
- Experience with agile development methodologies and product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Passion for emerging technologies and a desire to build best-in-class developer platforms.
