About Beck Technology:

On top of being a 5-time winner of the Best Places to Work in Dallas by the Dallas Business Journal, Beck Technology is a uniquely positioned software company creating technologies to make the world a better place to live by focusing on rethinking early-stage decision-making in preconstruction.

Our products are the most successful, state-of-the-art 2D/3D integrated preconstruction suite of tools for estimating and bid leveling on the market today. We elegantly enable our clients to leverage their preconstruction data in ways never before possible.

Our passion, our innovation, and our caring culture have afforded us enormous success and have continued to make Beck Technology an amazing place to work for over 25 years.

About The Job:

We empower our product teams to solve hard problems – customer problems and business problems – in ways that work for our business, yet our customers love. Our product teams are cross-functional and durable, generally comprised of a product manager, a product designer, and several engineers.

We staff our product teams with the skills necessary to come up with effective solutions that are valuable (our customers choose to buy or use), viable (the solution works within the many constraints of the business), usable (the user can figure out how to use), and feasible (our engineers have the skills and technology to implement).

While the product designer is accountable for ensuring the solution is usable, and the engineers are accountable for ensuring the solution is feasible, the product manager is accountable for ensuring the solution is both valuable and viable.

To do this, the product manager must bring to the team a comprehensive understanding of business constraints, such as those from marketing, sales, service, finance, legal, and privacy. They also need a deep understanding of our users and customers, along with data on how customers interact with our products. Additionally, the product manager tracks industry trends and the competitive landscape to inform product decisions.

While each product team member is accountable for specific risks, we seek product managers who understand that consistent innovation comes from every team member contributing their passion and ideas. The product manager must collaborate closely with the product designer and engineers to discover effective solutions and work together to deliver them to market.

We empower our product teams to determine the best solutions to address the problems at hand, but we also hold them accountable for delivering results. Shipping is necessary but not sufficient. We value product managers who embrace accountability for outcomes, even when achieving those outcomes requires influencing and working through others.

This job, as with the other roles on the product team, is an individual contributor role. You will need to be able to influence your teammates, as well as colleagues, stakeholders, and key executives, through your use of data and logic.

Although this position is based in Dallas, TX, we have a hybrid work environment and support flexible and full-time remote team members.
