Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers and coders to understand outpatient HIM codersβ needs and prioritize them.
- Establish and articulate product differentiation from competitors. Able to understand both the strategic and economic value of key enhancements to product amongst multiple other competing priorities.Β
- Work with the UX and Engineering to prioritize the backlog, articulate clear feature stories with mockups, plan sprints, and deliver features.
- Contribute to product planning exercises; ensure plans incorporate customer research, usability studies, and market analysis.
- Developing requirements documents for the engineering teamsβ consumption to help them understand the healthcare provider experience from features and functionalities.
- Communicate requirements and track development sprints, lead testing, and acceptance of the new features, including customer validations.
- Define product roadmap to deliver products that healthcare clients will utilize and achieve expected business outcomes.
- Analyze product performance metrics, synthesize takeaways, iterate with Engineering, and ensure quality, compliance, risk, and regulatory expectations.

Objective Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for a Product Manager position, the Objective Minimum Qualifications (OMQs) below must be met.
- One of the following AHIMA credentials: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)Β
- Experience analyzing and assigning medical codes to patient records, ensuring accurate billing and data management within a healthcare facility.
- Thorough understanding and experience with CPT, HCPCS, and APC grouper
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and disease processes to accurately interpret medical records.Β
- Ability to critically analyze medical records and identify potential coding issues.Β
- Experience overseeing quality audits, and data integrity initiatives.Β
- Data analysis and reporting: Analyze coding trends and identify areas for improvement, generating reports to inform healthcare management decisions.Β
- Familiarity with terminology and ontology in healthcare
Qualifications:
- 5+ years related to facility-based outpatient HIM coding
- 2+ years of relevant professional experience in product management preferred but not required.Β
- Bachelors or associate degree in Health Information Management (HIM)
