This role requires unique mastery and recognized authority in customer-centric as-a-Service (aaS) standards, technologies, and industry practices, contributing to the development of highly innovative principles and ideas. The role operates in the most complex business disciplines, providing strategic insights and driving innovative solutions that support the organization’s long-term aaS goals and objectives.

Key responsibilities include driving the strategic design and execution of product requirements for subscription-based offerings across various routes to market (RTM) and go-to-market (GTM) strategies. This role is responsible for understanding market demands, customer needs, and competitive capabilities in the SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS ecosystems, while ensuring alignment with overall business goals. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture and prioritize requirements, analyze market trends, and influence key business decisions that shape the company’s subscription strategy.

This individual will routinely exercise independent judgment in creating methods and techniques that achieve strategic objectives. Although this position does not manage other employees, it plays a pivotal role in aligning strategies to industry best practices through collaboration with cross-division, multi-function teams to drive new revenue streams and sustained growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and articulation of subscription requirements across RTM and GTM channels. Extract insights on requirements driven from Sales & Channel feedback, emerging trends and competitive landscapes, shaping business strategies and innovations.
  • Act as a bridge between field teams, partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure that subscription offerings meet market needs and customer expectations.
  • Influence the company’s go-to-market strategy by defining clear, market-driven requirements for current and future subscription products and services.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions (M&A) by integrating subscription models from acquired companies into the broader business ecosystem influencing the offer setup using existing standards and capabilities.
  • Drive strategic alignment toward customer-centric as-a-Service (aaS) standards company-wide, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and fueling market leadership.
  • Present complex, data-driven insights to senior leadership, enabling informed decision-making and strategic alignment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including (but not limited to) product, sales, Channel, engineering, finance, and IT, to ensure seamless integration and execution of aaS initiatives.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends in SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and Flex Solutions, applying these insights to strengthen the company's market position.
  • Influence cross-divisional teams without managing direct reports, ensuring alignment on as-a-Service (aaS) goals and standards while driving impactful decisions.

Education and Experience Required:

Typically, 8+ years total experience in strategy, planning, operations, finance, or related functional area. Advanced university degree preferred (e.g., MBA) or demonstrable equivalent experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • aaS Standards Expertise: Proven ability to establish customer-centric aaS standards, guiding company-wide adoption of strategic practices to unlock new revenue streams and drive market leadership.
  • M&A Integration & Innovation: Experience leading and supporting M&A integrations focused on aaS offerings, ensuring seamless onboarding and scaling of new capabilities.
  • System Integration Expertise: In-depth knowledge of integrating subscription management systems like SAP BRIM, S/4HANA, CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), and analytics platforms.
  • Business and Technical Acumen: Ability to bridge business and technical requirements, ensuring processes and systems are aligned with the company’s growth strategy.
  • Communication & Influence: Strong ability to present complex concepts and data-driven insights to senior executives, enabling informed decision-making without managing direct reports.
  • Emerging Trends: Ability to stay ahead of industry trends in SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and Flex Solutions, applying innovations to strengthen the company’s market position.
  • Change Leadership without People Management: Skilled at influencing change and leading decisions across various domains without direct management of teams.
  • Project & Product Lifecycle Management: Knowledge of methodologies and techniques for managing product lifecycles in SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and Flex Solutions environments.
  • Process Design & Improvement: Proficiency in designing, documenting, and improving processes for subscription management offerings, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Business Acumen: Strong analytical abilities to assess market conditions, perform financial modeling, and provide data-driven insights that align with business goals.
  • Cloud Technical Knowledge: Understanding of cloud computing, networking, and IT systems relevant to SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and Flex Solutions, with the ability to bridge business needs and technical requirements.
